Wat te eten in Theth

De tafel van de vallei staat vol bergkost — zuivel, forel, deeggebak en gegrild vlees. Dit zijn de gerechten om naar uit te kijken.

Flija

Het feestgerecht van het hoogland — een pannenkoek met vele lagen, langzaam gegaard onder een metalen deksel op gloeiende kolen, geserveerd in punten met honing of kaas.

Waar eet je in Theth?+

Vooral bij je gastenverblijf. Eten in Theth is grotendeels zelfgekookte halfpension (bujtina), waar gastheren stevige bergmaaltijden bereiden. Er zijn maar een handvol eenvoudige eethuisjes in het dorp, dus halfpension boeken bij je kamerreservering is de norm.

Stevige Noord-Albanese bergkeuken — flija (een pannenkoek met lagen, gegaard op gloeiende kolen), fërgesë (een pan met paprika en kaas), verse rivierforel, byrek-gebak, gegrilde qofte en vlees, lokale kaas en honing, en zelfgemaakte rakia.

Hoe duur is uit eten in Theth?+

Goedkoop, en vaak inbegrepen in je kamer als halfpension. Een diner bij het gastenverblijf is bescheiden, en snelle hapjes zoals byrek kosten maar een euro of twee. Neem Albanese lek mee, want betalen met kaart is in de vallei zelden mogelijk.
