Valbonë–Theth Hike over the Pass
The classic crossing of the Albanian Alps and one of the most famous day hikes in the Balkans. The trail climbs from the valley floor to the Valbona Pass at around 1,800 m, with sweeping views of the Accursed Mountains, before descending into the neighbouring Valbonë valley. Most walkers do it in one long day, often with a guesthouse pick-up at either end.
Blue Eye of Theth Hike
A there-and-back hike down the valley to the Blue Eye of Theth, a vivid blue spring pool fed by mountain water and framed by small waterfalls. The route follows the gorge past Nderlysa and climbs through forest to the pool, a rewarding half- to full-day walk depending on where you start.
Grunas Waterfall Walk
The easiest of Theth's signature walks, a short hike from the village to the roughly 25–30 m Grunas Waterfall, often combined with a look into the Grunas Canyon. It is a good half-day outing and an ideal first walk to get a feel for the valley.

The little stone Catholic church is the symbol of Theth, a modest building with a shingled bell tower and conical roof, standing on a green meadow in the middle of the valley beneath the peaks of the Accursed Mountains.
Grunas Waterfall
Grunas Waterfall drops roughly 25–30 metres down a mossy rock face into a cold pool, a short hike above the village. It is the most popular short walk in Theth and is often combined with the Grunas Canyon below it.
Blue Eye of Theth
The Blue Eye of Theth is a vivid blue-and-turquoise spring pool fed by a small waterfall, set deep in a forested gorge down the valley near Nderlysa. The cold, startlingly clear water is the reward at the end of one of the valley's classic walks.

Bar-Restaurant Jezerca
Albanian mountainThe bar-restaurant of Hotel Jezerca and one of Theth's busiest kitchens, a big glass-fronted dining room turning out hearty Alpine cooking, grilled river trout, meats and traditional northern-Albanian plates, with a wide terrace facing the valley and its peaks. The menu is broader than most in the valley: alongside the traditional Albanian specialities the kitchen makes fresh pizza and quicker fast-food plates, worth knowing on a night when nobody wants another plate of grilled meat. It sits on Rruga Nikgjonaj, in what the hotel calls the very centre of Theth, with the Albanian Alps filling the view.

Restaurant Pizzeri Dragobia
Pizza & grillA bar-restaurant and pizzeria in the hamlet of Dragobi, near the mouth of the Valbona valley, with a shaded terrace of wooden tables looking across to its stone-built dining house and the peaks beyond. Alongside wood-fired pizza it grills meats and river trout. One of the highest-rated stops on the drive up the valley.

Thethi Paradise Restaurant & Hotel
Albanian mountainA restaurant-and-guesthouse of timber chalets set on the valley floor beneath a dramatic wall of mountains. Alongside its rooms it runs a well-regarded kitchen serving traditional Albanian Alpine fare, grilled meats, trout and home-style dishes, either indoors or out in the garden. The kitchen cooks from the family's own farm in Theth, and breakfast, continental or buffet, is included for guests. Accommodation runs to nine wooden houses plus six newer stone ones, with double, triple, family and panoramic-view rooms quoted from around €60 to €80, though mountain rates move year to year. Parking on site is free, the owners arrange airport pickups, car hire and guided tours, and they put the place about 0.8 miles from the village centre.

Albanian mountainA rustic restaurant named for the centuries-old stone water-mill it sits beside, reached by a little wooden footbridge over the rushing Valbona river. Molla Guest House
A family bujtina up the valley, a big stone-and-timber lodge with a long veranda looking out to the peaks of the Accursed Mountains. Rooms are simple and warm, and mornings start with a generous home-cooked breakfast laid out on the terrace above the meadow. The family describe the house as traditional stone and wood, about two hours from Shkodra, with a panoramic hillside view, a bar and restaurant where the food is all local and traditional, and a big garden that also takes campers. The listing calls it a guest house in a historic building: rooms have private bathrooms, wardrobes and free WiFi, and the double with a mountain view adds a patio. There is room service, free private parking and a paid airport shuttle, and the hosts can arrange a guide for the waterfalls, the Blue Eye and the church. Staff speak English and Italian, and the guesthouse takes cash only.
Guesthouse Gjin Thana
A family guesthouse near the centre of the valley, with a vine-shaded terrace for long dinners and cosy timber-lined rooms hung with traditional Highland touches. Like most Theth bujtina it runs on home-cooked half-board, whatever the family is cooking that night. Alongside the sun terrace and garden there is a restaurant and bar, family rooms, a minimarket, a coffee shop, outdoor seating, a picnic area and barbecue facilities. The kitchen does local cooking for lunch and dinner as well as high tea, breakfast is continental, and an outdoor fireplace gives everyone somewhere to sit afterwards. Private check-in and check-out, a 24-hour front desk, luggage storage, daily housekeeping, a tour desk and an airport shuttle are all offered, with free WiFi and free private parking on site. The guesthouse takes cash only.
Bujtina Pllumi
One of the best-reviewed family houses in the valley, a timber cabin on a wide sunlit lawn with the Accursed Mountains closing the view. Guests rate the dinner, the breakfast and the hosts themselves above almost everything else in Theth. Rooms are family rooms with private bathrooms, garden or mountain views and slippers, from standard doubles through doubles with a balcony to triples. Breakfast is continental with local specialities, and menus for special diets can be arranged. There is a garden, a bar, a lounge, a coffee shop, a small shop and free WiFi, and the family run cooking and culture classes. The house takes cash only.

Po. Thethi është një nga destinacionet malore më mahnitëse të Shqipërisë, një fshat me shtëpi guri thellë në Alpet Shqiptare, i rrethuar nga Bjeshkët e Nemuna, me ujëvara, një pellg burimi me blu të gjallë dhe disa nga ecjet më të bukura të Ballkanit që nga pragu i derës.
Dy deri në tre ditë mjaftojnë për të parë kishën, për të ecur te Ujëvara e Grunasit dhe për t'u ngjitur te Syri i Kaltër i Thethit. Shto një ditë për kalimin e plotë Valbonë–Theth mbi qafë, ose për të ngadalësuar e shijuar jetën e bujtinës në luginë.
Në Theth arrihet nga Shkodra, rreth 70 km dhe afërsisht 2.5–3.5 orë përmes një rruge malore gjarpëruese. Minibusë ditorë (furgonë) nisen nga Shkodra në muajt e ngrohtë, ose mund të vozitësh vetë. Aeroporti më i afërt është Tirana, rreth 1.5–2 orë nga Shkodra.
Qershori deri në shtator është sezoni kryesor, kur shtigjet janë të pastra nga bora dhe bujtinat janë të hapura. Muajt e ndërmjetëm maj dhe tetor janë të ndryshueshëm, ndërsa qasja në dimër është e kufizuar nga bora në rrugën malore.
Jo. Ka ecje të shkurtra dhe të lehta si te Ujëvara e Grunasit, krahas rrugëve më të gjata si Syri i Kaltër i Thethit dhe kalimi Valbonë–Theth. Zgjidh shtigje sipas gjendjes tënde fizike, mbaj ujë dhe veshje, dhe nisi herët ecjet e gjata.
